Resources for evaluation

At the Innovation Hub, we have worked with early years services to help improve data capture and evaluation of interventions for children and parents. Services are an integral part of improving families’ outcomes, so we’ve produced resources based on our work.

We work closely with partners who fund projects and services for families, helping them to evaluate how services are working in practice. To support this work, we developed a series of key Progression Criteria which provide meaningful boundaries for monitoring performance and can help to guide decision making.

Much of our work also involves working directly with frontline services that deliver projects to families. To help them design interventions and evaluate them, we have published a series of guides and toolkits:

  • Service Design: An Operational Guide for those who are designing or planning the implementation of a project
  • Implementation & Monitoring Toolkit for those who want to monitor and review performance of an intervention that is ready to start or is already up and running
  • BSBIH Evaluation Framework for those who are interested in understanding more about evaluation options for an intervention

To help support a strong foundation for evaluation we have also produced some useful videos on developing Theories of Change and Logic Models:
